A legal disclaimer

This agreement sets forth the legally binding terms and conditions for all services rendered by Crowned by KD, a private salon suite located in Newnan, Georgia. By booking an appointment, visiting the salon, receiving services, or engaging in communication with Crowned by KD (hereafter referred to as "the stylist," "the salon," or "we"), the client ("you" or "the client") agrees to be bound by all terms stated below.

These Terms & Conditions are subject to change at any time without notice. The most current version will always be available on our website and may also be requested via email.

1. Booking & Deposits

1.1. Deposits are required to secure all appointments. Deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable, regardless of the reason for cancellation or rescheduling.

1.2. Appointments are not confirmed until the deposit is received. Failure to submit a deposit within the stated timeframe may result in cancellation.

1.3. If you are unsure which service to book, it is your responsibility to contact the salon prior to booking. We are not responsible for timing or pricing discrepancies caused by incorrect service selection.

1.4. Clients who book the “Other” service option must send a clear photo of the desired style within 30 minutes of booking. If the photo is not received, the appointment will be automatically canceled without notice and the deposit forfeited.

2. Cancellations, Rescheduling & No-Shows

2.1. Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance via the online booking system or by text.

2.2. Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the appointment will result in the forfeiture of your deposit.

2.3. One-time rescheduling is allowed with at least 24 hours’ notice. Further reschedules will require a new deposit and may result in a ban at the stylist’s discretion.

2.4. No-call/no-show clients will be blocked from future bookings and forfeit their deposit.

2.5. Repeated cancellations or failure to follow the salon’s policies may result in a permanent ban from booking services.

3. Timeliness & Late Arrival Policy

3.1. Please arrive on time for your scheduled appointment. A 15-minute grace period is allowed.

3.2. Clients arriving more than 15 minutes late may have their appointment canceled and will forfeit their deposit.

3.3. Clients arriving after the grace period without prior communication may be charged a late fee or denied service based on timing availability.

4. Children & Guest Policy

4.1. No additional guests are allowed in the salon unless they are also receiving a service.

4.2. Children under the age of 10 are not permitted in the salon unless they are being serviced.

4.3. For children being serviced, drop-offs are permitted. However, a parent or guardian must return 15 minutes prior to the end of the service.

4.4. Clients will receive a text notification when it's time to return. A $20 late pickup fee will apply if the child is not picked up on time, with an additional $50 per hour thereafter.

5. Hair Preparation & Client Responsibilities

5.1. Clients must arrive with hair free of braids, twists, or any existing styles, unless a takedown service was booked in advance.

5.2. If hair is not properly detangled or ready to be shampooed, a detangling or takedown fee will be applied at the stylist's discretion.

5.3. All services include a shampoo and blow-dry, unless explicitly requested otherwise.

5.4. For faux locs, goddess locs, bohemian locs, or butterfly locs, clients must provide the appropriate hair. The stylist is not responsible for results impacted by poor-quality or insufficient hair provided by the client.

6. Service Outcome & Results

6.1. The stylist agrees to provide services using professional skill and care, based on the information provided at the time of booking and consultation.

6.2. Results may vary based on hair texture, density, previous chemical treatments, scalp conditions, and aftercare practices.

6.3. The client assumes full responsibility for the decision to proceed with any style and acknowledges that the stylist has made no guarantees regarding the longevity or outcome of the style.

6.4. Under no circumstances will refunds be issued. All services are final once rendered and approved at the time of appointment.

6.5. If a client experiences an issue, they must notify the stylist within 48 hours of the service. The stylist may, at their sole discretion, offer a touch-up or minor correction only if the issue is due to a confirmed error on the stylist’s part.

6.6. Requests for free corrections, redos, or refunds due to personal preference or improper at-home care will not be honored.

7. Medical Conditions & Disclosures

7.1. Clients must disclose any medical conditions, allergies, or scalp sensitivities prior to receiving services. This includes, but is not limited to: alopecia, psoriasis, eczema, tender scalps, recent surgeries, or hair loss conditions.

7.2. The salon is not liable for negative reactions resulting from non-disclosure of pre-existing conditions.

7.3. The stylist reserves the right to decline service if it appears that providing it would cause harm, injury, or violate public health and safety standards.

8. Payment Terms

8.1. Remaining balances are due immediately upon completion of service, payable by cash, Zelle, or Apple Pay. No other payment forms are accepted unless explicitly stated.

8.2. Clients who fail to pay at the time of service will be banned and, if necessary, legal action will be pursued.

8.3. Chargebacks or payment disputes initiated after receiving services are considered fraud and will be pursued legally.

9. Liability Waiver

9.1. By booking an appointment, the client voluntarily agrees to release and hold harmless Crowned by KD, its owner, and affiliates from any claims, damages, or liability arising from services rendered.

9.2. This includes, but is not limited to, allergic reactions, scalp irritation, breakage, emotional distress, dissatisfaction with results, or issues related to photos or marketing usage.

10. Photography & Marketing Consent

10.1. Crowned by KD reserves the right to photograph or video any style or service for promotional purposes. These images may be used on the website, social media, or other marketing platforms.

10.2. If you prefer not to have your photo taken or shared, please notify the stylist before your service begins. Requests after the fact may not be honored.

11. Intellectual Property

11.1. All content, branding, photos, videos, and logos associated with Crowned by KD are the exclusive property of the stylist.

11.2. Clients are not permitted to use, duplicate, or reproduce salon content or training for commercial purposes without express written consent.

12. Legal Jurisdiction

12.1. These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Georgia.

12.2. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these terms shall be resolved exclusively in the courts of Coweta County, Georgia.

13. Agreement

By booking an appointment with Crowned by KD, the client confirms that they have read, understood, and agreed to all the terms outlined above. Failure to abide by these terms may result in denied service, financial penalties, or legal action.
